Welcome to London’s staff have chosen four very different sightseeing venues to help you get the most out of your stay in this beautiful capital. This month we have looked at the Hampton Court Palace, Lords Cricket Ground, the Museum of London, the National Army Museum.

England, as an island race, has major ports all around its coastline, with a military, shipping, royal and trading history going back 2,000 years. Bristol, Cardiff, Portsmouth and Southampton each have a story to tell.

Royal residences abound in London and across England, beautifully furnished and packed with treasures from the Royal Collection, and many are open to visitors when the Royal Family is not in residence


Cover Story




Beefeaters (or Yeman Warders) are the official guards of the Tower of London, originally established in 1485 as bodyguards to Henry VII. They are best known for their flamboyant scarlet and gold dress costumes which date from 1552 and are still worn today. They attend Coronations and the Lord Mayor`s Show, as well as other State functions. They also help visitors find their way around the Tower.
