Tunnel Vision

Ahh, the Underground. Londoners can’t live without it, yet they roll their eyes at the mere thought of the rush hour crowds. The Tube has been a backdrop in many a flick, from romantic dramas such as Sliding Doors to horrorfests like An American Werewolf in London, featuring gruesome scenes at Tottenham Court Road station.

More recently, some of the capital’s iconic landmarks, such as Westminster Bridge and Piccadilly Circus, starred in Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic 28 Days Later. The crew was made to shoot these scenes early in the morning to avoid the hefty crowds.

To make way for St Pancras Station, a graveyard was demolished and 8,000 bodies removed. You can still see a pile of the old gravestones at St Pancras New Church by the Hardy Tree.
